What Is Meditation ?

Meditation is an integral process that helps people to understand and embrace spirituality. Its healing power helps in easing anxiety, chronic pain, and stress. It helps in improving the overall health of your heart and other organs. Regular practice of meditation can help in resolving pregnancy problems and at the same time strengthen immunity and boost your moods.

Meditation has a calming effect on the mind and body. It is a practice by which your mind gathers all the positive states and channelizes their own positive energy to different parts of the body. This energy is also called the healing energy and it not only calms the mind but also provides respite from pain and everyday stress.

The art of mastering meditation lies in focusing on your breathing. When you are able to focus only on your breathing, all negative thoughts will disappear and you will be left with a soothing sensation of relaxation. The more you practice meditation, the more relaxed you will be.

This is exactly what the healing power of meditation can bring forth; it can help you to go into the deeper recesses of your mind and remove all the unwanted thoughts and negativity that constantly threatens your peace of mind.

Meditation begins in the mind, which is composed of 5 layers. The first layer of the mind is an important link between your five senses and thought as well as between your thought and the five motor organs in your body. The five senses include eyes, nose, ears, tongue and skin while the five motor organs are hands, vocal chords, feet, genital organ and the anus. When you meditate, the mind is able to focus better on the organs, thoughts, and senses and thus improve the functioning of your senses as well as organs.

The second layer of the mind helps you to think, remember, and experience. In order to help in the process of thinking and experiencing, the second layer focuses on breathing. When you meditate, your primary focus is on breathing because this will slowly help you to understand and apply the healing power of meditation to your mind and body.

Deeper concentration on breathing while in meditation will also help you to achieve greater power of will and increase your psychic strength.

The third layer of the mind is like a library. It is the storage space for good and positive experiences as well as evil and negative experiences. Meditation will assist you in removing the negative experiences and help focus on the positive experiences so that your mind and body is filled with positive energy, which will further help you to disassociate from external pressures and influences.

The fourth and fifth layer of the mind deals with discrimination, non-attachment, and most important of all – the sense of "I". The healing power of meditation lies in the fact that as you move from the first layer to the fifth layer of your mind, your body will automatically learn to follow the mind. This will help the body to harness all the positive energy radiated through the mind and help you to live a healthier life.
